What Is The Best Coffee Grinder For 2021 – Top Picks

What Is The Best Coffee Grinder For 2021 – Top Picks

Before diving into the review and answer of what is the best coffee grinder for 2021?, let’s discuss what to look for when buying your home use coffee grinder through Amazon or any other retailers.

The market has a variety of brands to choose from, and you might find yourself lost on which one is the best for you.

If you look for the best cup of coffee every day with no compromise, then grinding your beans at home is the only way to go.

Let’s face it; pre-ground coffee does not taste the same as freshly ground beans. The bag of ground coffee that you buy from coffee shops or convenience stores leaks the aroma, which directly affects the smell and flavor of the coffee. This happens in only 15 minutes from the time of grinding.

Also, different brew methods require the perfect grind size. French Press’s best grind is very coarse while Turkish coffee is too fine.

Choosing a machine that has different grinding options is crucial for you if you prefer different kinds of coffee.

Your grinder can make or break your coffee’s flavor. A high-quality coffee grinder guarantees no large or smaller pieces of the beans are left unground.

Fully ground coffee will ensure you have the same taste with every brew!

Which One Would You Select?

If you find yourself habitually grabbing 2 or 3 cups of coffee per day from well know coffee shops like Starbucks, chances are, you do so because of the consistent taste and freshness.

On the downside, Market Watch states that the average cost of a cup of gourmet coffee is $4.28.

If we calculate based on 3 cups per day hypothesis, the numbers are $4.28 X 3 cups X 30 days = $385.2 per month

Your yearly cost would be $385.2 X 12 months = $4,622.4

If you are considering buying a home use coffee grinder, the savings are tremendous. Keeping the same rich flavor and aroma, you always admire in your favorite cup.

The numbers are:

A 2 lbs bag of gourmet whole bean coffee costs an average of $25, making around 90 cups of coffee, which covers you for an entire month consuming 3 cups per day. Thus, the cost per cup is $0.28, with a total daily cost of $0.84.

The average coffee grinder machine costs about $500. If we split the price over 365 days, the daily cost is $1.37.

Are the numbers starting to add up? Let’s go on, the total daily cost of your 3 cups of coffee and your grinder is $2.21.

The monthly spent will look like this $2.21 X 30 days = $66.3 per month.

Your yearly cost would be $66.3 X 12 months = $795.6

Total savings due to buying a coffee grinder are $4,622.4 – $795.6 = $3,826.8.

Buying a high-quality coffee grinder is a smart investment, which will save you an average of 82.79% of what you used to pay yearly.

Also, you will keep the same mind-blowing coffee taste, aroma, and impress your guests!

Hope that by the end of this review, you have a clear idea of what is the best coffee grinder for 2021. All the mentioned brands and models above are trustworthy and reliable, it is a matter of what YOU look for in a machine.

So what do you think? Would you buy a coffee grinder? Share your thoughts in the comments box.

  1. Hi Jordan, thank you for giving a few recommendations of coffee grinders for the year 2020. Whenever I feel like drinking coffee, I’ll need to go out and grab the coffee which costs an average of $5 a cup. I’m thinking it would be better to purchase a coffee grinder so that I can make different types of coffee by using it, it is the best way to save costs as a coffee lover. Anfim Scody 2 Espresso Grinder would be my decision because it is great value for money and considered as one of the astonishing grind on-demand models. Thank you for your great post!

    1. Hi Miki,

For $5 a cup, buying a coffee grinder will save you tons of money on a monthly basis. Even the most expensive machine would still save you a lot.

  2. You are so right, there is nothing quite like a cup of freshly ground coffee, but it is just so much PT to do for every cup, so make that the special cup of the day.

I love that you don’t need to buy two machines anymore. Nowadays the grinder is part of the coffee machine, so now you can grind and make your cup on the same machine.

I think the Capresso is the one I would choose as it seems to do everything and looks like the best coffee grinder from your list.

    1. The Capresso machine is a perfect choice, Michel.

Nothing beats a freshly brewed cup of coffee!

  3. Thanks so much for such a great review of coffee grinders. I love my little bialetti that comes with already ground coffee but find that the coffee goes off quicker if I don’t keep it in the fridge. What do you think would be the best way to keep the coffee when not in use and how long should it stay in the coffee grinder before it’ll go bad?

This will probably help me determine which one to go for, because I travel for work I’m not home everyday to use my coffee grinder. But I love the post, it’s very informative and I love the potential savings bit at the end. That definitely makes it a no brainer for me to purchase. Question is which one? 😉

  4. Being a coffee lover myself, I enjoyed reading this article. I like your website very much. The difference between grinders is huge and having a perfect grinder is a must for every coffee lover. I agree it’s a much better option to purchase one of these than to spend money on Starbucks coffee. I would go for Anfim Scody 2 Espresso Grinder. I like the high capacity hopper. Thanks for sharing these recommendations!

    1. Hi Ivan,

The high capacity hopper in Anfim Scody 2 grinder is perfect when you have to make several cups within a short period of time, like when friends are around 🙂

  5. Thanks for the great review article about coffee grinders.  Even though I don’t drink coffee, I do use coffee grinders.  I use mine for grinding cinnamon sticks, that turns them into cinnamon powder that  use in my many forms of nut butter.  So, I thought you should know that there’s more than one use for the grinders.  Your article gave me a lot of good insight.  The Eureka Mignon and the Rancillo look like what I’ve been looking for.  Keep up the good work.

  6. Hello,I am more of a tea drinker, I recently got the hang of coffee and I am loving it.

I have to say that I’ve always used preground coffee at home but after reading this, I am interested in going with grinding my own beans.  Trouble is, all of these machines seem to be great and make choosing one difficult.  But my favorite so far is the Capresso.  Many thanks for this opportunity!

  13. Thank you for this helpful review of the best coffee grinders for 2020.
I found it very informative and helpful and I have to say this is a buying guide at the same time!

I’m a coffee lover and I take this twice a day. In the morning and at noon. But I’ve never calculated how much it costs me in a year.

After reading your article and following the calculations you made here, I did a quick calculation and found that paying for a coffee grinder can save me hundreds of dollars a year.

I think The Baratza Virtuoso would be perfect for me as it has a good customer rating.

Thank you again for this helpful post. You’re an economist too it seems!! lol

    1. Hi Sebastian,

Many think that buying a coffee grinder is an unnecessary cost, on the contrary, it can save lots of money while producing the perfect cup with every brew!

  14. Wow, I need a coffee grinder now! What’s your opinion on manual grinders, though? I saw a few in China and thought they worked pretty well. They’re also a lot cheaper. What justifies buying one of the machines on your list over a small manual grinder? Also, once I do have my coffee grinder, where can I find espresso beans? I’ve personally never seen packages of espresso beans anywhere. Thanks!

  15. Hi there! I stumbled across your website at the perfect time. I was just looking at purchasing a coffee grinder and you have some amazing options on your list. I also like the fact that it is updated for 2020. The video you added was very useful and I appreciate all the information you provided. Thanks for sharing!

  16. You caught my attention with the fact that preground coffee does not taste like the freshly ground beans. In fact the aroma and taste can never be the same. The Euraka will do well for me, with its Ace system having good ability to prevent clumps reduce electrostatic charge of coffee to the barest minimum

  17. If the coffee does not expire in the cup within 25 seconds (above 25 seconds), it is necessary to intervene with the nonsense of grinding.

Knowing that the coffee is flowing slowly, you run the risk of remaining in contact with the hot filter holder and the blown ones should be set silly to grind to a coarse powder, whereas if the coffee is flowing too fast (less than 20 sec.), A fine grinding step is required. ; normally, 1 or 2 jumps of the control blades are sufficient.

  18. I really wish I’d had this article a year ago! It took me forever to find a coffee grinder I liked. I did a ton of researching and reading customer reviews. I eventually got one that is just okay. When it comes time to replace it, I’ll be back! I especially love the cost calculations – super helpful. Thanks!

  19. I´m a coffee lover so I was fascinated to find your site. I agree, the best coffee is when you grind your own coffee, but I find it so messy, can you recommend a grinder that helps my wife not get annoyed with the mess on the floor that so much grinding seems to incur? Well, for me at least! I also found your video on grinders really helpful.

The Gaggia Coffee Machine & Grinders described in one of your links, looks amazing but it seems quite expensive for the average home.

I am very tempted by the Capresso 464.05 which looks practical and at $169.99 is far more accessible.  I´m tempted by this machine. How much space does it take up on the kitchen counter?

For me space on the counter is important, my wife has a “minimalistic” approach to life.  That goes for our spending too.  Bearing in mind size, i.e. space on a kitchen counter, value, it doesn´t have to be cheap, but good value matters.  Which which  coffee grinder would you recommend? And can you recommend a machine that grinds and feeds directly into the coffee maker? Is that really the Capresso 464.05 ? It certainly looks very good.

  20. Wow, Amazing! These grinders have got awesome features. I am inclined towards  ‘Capresso CoffeeTeam GS’ as coffee beans sit in the top of the grinder where you can see them in a container that holds 6 ounces of beans which is an excellent quantity. Thanks for the review, it is really helpful in purchasing a coffee grinder.

  21. Thank you so much for sharing with us such a beautiful article about Best Coffee Grinders For 2020 – Reviews & Top Picks. This is a perfect article for those of us who drink coffee every day.

For me, a day when I didn’t drink coffee is a lost day. It might sound senseless, however, coffee gives me the vitality and capacity to begin another working day. People who have a habit of drinking coffee must have a coffee grinder. My old grinder is ruined. So I am thinking about buying a new coffee grinder.

When I say a nice coffee grinder I think that the Rancilio HSD-ROC-SD Rocky Espresso Coffee Grinder is one of them. I think this article will benefit everyone. Thanks for sharing a useful and informative post.Good luck!

  22. Wow! I mean I literally told my girlfriend I was trying to figure out a niche to venture in and she thought for some seconds and said “coffee”. On seeing your post I feel in love already, that was a very in-depth review.

I’m looking further into the Breville grinder. I wish you luck in your endeavors.

  23. Thanks for the article you have shared with us. It’s true that making coffee is time-consuming sometimes especially when I have guests. But, with machine I can make a cup of coffee quickly. I hope that Anfim Scody 2 Espresso Grinder can help me a lot to make a cup of coffee quickly. It will save me valuable time.

I have read about the product. I am sure that it will work well. I will share the post with other coffee lovers so that they may know about it.

  24. Thanks for such an in-depth review. I had no idea that coffee started to lose its aroma and flavors only fifteen minutes after being ground. My boyfriend and I have different coffee tastes so we are looking for a grinder with a range of settings. I never realised Baratza had such a good social responsibility record – that’s a selling point in my opinion.

    1. Hi Abby,

In this day and age, we need more and more companies to realize the importance of being socially and environmentally responsible. I always look for companies of that kind to buy from.

  25. Thanks a lot for such a fantastic review of Best Coffee Grinders For 2020.

I own a  coffee grinder that is giving me a hard time recently. So I decided to buy another one. I read many articles about coffee grinders on the internet, but this is the best I have found. I will seriously consider the DeLonghi Dedica Conical Burr Digital Espresso Coffee Grinder as I always have many guests, and the capacity is just perfect.

    Thanks and keep in touch!

    1. Hey,

Brewing coffee at home using a grinder is always a splendid choice, you will always impress your valued guest for sure!

  26. I am more of a tea drinker, I recently got the hang of coffee and I am loving it.

I am not an expert on coffee making but I totally agree with you grinding your own coffee beans, I think it’s the best way to go.

Which of the coffee makers in this post would you advise someone to get?

I think they are all amazing with beautiful features and designs.

    1. Hi Sami,

Welcome aboard the coffee lovers team!

I would go for the Capresso if you are looking for a Grinder & a coffee machine 2 in 1.

  27. This is the most in depth coffee grinder article that I have seen on the internet. Do you think that you should get a coffee grinder specifically or do you think that you can get away with a normal coffee or espresso machine. Have you found that a coffee grinder is the best and tastiest way to make coffee?

    1. Hi Jon,

Using a coffee grinder will guarantee a better coffee taste and freshness since preground coffee usually starts losing its aroma and flavor after only 15 minutes.

So imagine the quality deterioration if you buy a bag of preground coffee from a convenience store or coffee shop.
